Eight months after the kick-off, the AMAICE consortium met again in person – this time at Goethe University Frankfurt. The three days were intensive and highly productive, and the highlight was clear from the start: the first AMAICE escape games, developed by the teams in Aalborg, Bratislava and Frankfurt, were ready to be played.
In mixed international groups, the partners tried out each other’s games and discussed them along the four key design principles agreed in Copenhagen, including immersion, differentiation and a strong conceptual focus on mathematics. The results were collected on large boards and directly fed into the next round of revisions.
The meeting also prepared the next steps: evaluation materials for trials with our partner schools, new tutorials on the editor’s AI features and on rapid prototyping, and a common template for teacher manuals that will make every game easy to use in the classroom.
With these results, the teams are now refining their games for the next phase of the project. The next Annual Meeting will take place in 2027 at the University of Siegen.
