Presenting the idea of AMAICE at ICTMT 17 in London

Just days before the official kick-off, our Siegen team introduced the idea of AMAICE to an international audience at the 17th International Conference on Technology in Mathematics Teaching.

ICTMT is one of the leading international meeting points for research on technology in mathematics education. At its 17th edition in London, our team from the University of Siegen presented the poster “From Gap to Game – Enhancing mathematical core competencies through digital Escape Games” during the conference’s opening poster session. The poster gives an overview of our work on digital STEM escape games – and introduced the idea of AMAICE to the international community.

The poster outlines the building blocks of this work, which AMAICE now takes to a European level: an open platform of digital STEM escape games, a free web-based editor with interactive mathematical visualisations and AI-based game characters, professional development materials for teachers, and new formats that make mathematics hands-on and motivating for students.

The poster session took place during the conference’s welcome event – an ideal opportunity to share our ideas with the international research community right at the start of the project. The conference proceedings have since been published open access by UCL (DOI: 10.14324/000.bk.10223410).
